Default can you do anything to a stock imco sc lower to make it stronger?

i know there are a lot of things to do to the sc upper to make it stronger but what about the stock sc lower? is there anything that can be done to improve the strength of the lower? I am planning a swap from sc upper and lower to scx upper and sc lower. I don't think my boat would like the scx lower and want to stay with the sc lower and make it stronger if possible during the swap. htm ss24, any thoughts? and also going from the 1.5 to 1.34 gears.
