Default CROSSOVER help..yes another crossover question..

So first time starting up the boat this year..I changed over to a hardin marine crossover over the winter. I have changed the impeller also. Well went to fire up the boat this year, I noticed its not pumping water out the exhaust. I let it run for a few minutes to see it it pumped and it never did. So I pulled the lower impeller hose, and there is water in there. I pulled the bypass tube on the crossover and there is water in there. I have the http://www.hardin-marine.com/p-13357...th-bypass.aspx crossover. I know about the drilling holes in the thermo to allow water to come though, but these thermo are different and don't have a place to drill the hole, plus it looks like it has one already on it. Im wondering is it cause the water is still cold coming through the hose that its not allowing it to flow through the exuast?? That's doesn't seem right though..

You should still see water from the exhaust, I installed the identical Crossover on my baja and it took a little while for the block to fill back up again but after it was full I was seeing water even with the thermo closed.
Did you check to see if you have water in the block? How much water are you seeing in the bypass?
The only thing I can tell you is make sure the hoses connected to the water pump housing are correct... I made the mistake of switching (unknowingly) and 3 days later realized what I had done.

Can you post a pic of your setup?

Well I think I might have found a issue...maybe not Im not sure.. but I noticed that the hose from the oil cooler coming into the bottom of the crossover was hanging really low under the motor. So I cut that shorter and I will see if that makes any difference..I don't think it will..But I did notice today that when the boat was running at idle, with no thermo in it. I wasn't sucking all the water into the drive from the hose, but once you idle it up to about 1000-1300 it would suck all the water from the hose...
