Default 260 Legend 496 HO Supercharged?

I did a search but could not locate any one that has done this. I have a 260 Legend with the 496 HO looking to Supercharge it just wondering if anyone has done it with this combination and what they achieved for speed?

I live in Knoxville TN does anybody know of anyone in the area or Nashville area that could do this kind of work?

Any idea what kind of money a person would have to spend?

Yes it can be done. No question...take it to Eddie Young of Young Performance. He's on here and close to you

From what I have researched about the 496 they are not the best choice to do upgrades too due the fact that they have cast internals as opposed to the forged internals of 454 and 502's. I know there are people who have supercharged them but not quite sure what the life expectancy is on them once it is done. You may be better off selling your engine as a turn key drop in and trying to get your hands on a 502 to have a better platform to build off of. And as Drock said get in touch with Eddie Young at Young performance and he will help steer you in the right direction.

Exactly as stated above. Eddie Young is the man for the job, but it's not just a blower bolt-on, it's a complete overhaul of the rotating assembly to make it live.

Eddie is on this forum and goes by Young Performance you can send him a pm. I know he has been busy helping the guys over at Smith Power so he may be hard to get a hold of right now. You can also get in contact with Josh LaFountain, I think he is having Eddie set up his motor.

Can't search from here, but there is a thread on here (in the PQ forum) about chasing speed with the Legend hull. A couple of guys tried big power, props, etc. Bottom line was the hull just isn't designed for much above 70 or so. Last posts I remember, one of them was cutting out the wedges at the transom and blueprinting the hull to see if it was possible to gain some that way. Before you drop major coin, check that thread.

Edit: This one: http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/p...gend-hull.html

Currently it will GPS 62 running 4600. I would like to get into the upper 60's to 70 if possible.

In response to your question. I own a '96 257 legend with a '02 496 with a Whipple and intercooler. I run 5psi of boost at 4800 spinning a 3 blade 25 pitch. Yes, I can run a bigger wheel but I run a stock bravo 1 with a 1:50 ratio. 64 mph and dead solid in any condition. Bone stock internals and over 200 hours. 0 issues. Whipple tuned the ecu. Hope this helps.
