In the 15-plus years I was involved with Powerboat magazine's Performance Trials and test team, there was no one I was more glad to see year in and year out than Lonnie Fluent. He was always upbeat. He always helped out around the docks. He was fun to hang out with. And Lonnie "did great paperwork," which as any Powerboat magazine editor can attest scores big points when all the boat testing fun is over and it's time to start writing.

I met Lonnie when I flew out to Nordic to check out the build on my new 28', nice guy for sure. For some reason they mixed up the color scheme on my boat and he said no problem and built me a new one. How's that for customer service?
When we were there I asked where was Lake Havasu and he pointed to it and I said no really, where is it? I didn't know it was a river, I'd read about it so much about it here and to see it that it was about the size of my harbor just made me laugh...he was sort of puzzled by my reaction but understood when I told him I lived on the coast.
RIP Lonnie...too young.
