Default What is this boat worth?

I'm trying to sell my F-18 Formula and having zero success even getting a bite on it.

Here is the ad: http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/s...ject-boat.html

I realize that project boats are harder to sell, but I believe that I have it priced for the same amount I could make off it selling it for parts. If I put it back together, I do not think I could make any more money than if I sold it for parts. Does anybody have advice on selling a project boat?

You are asking someone to pay $3,000 for the privilege of A. finishing a project (which no one wants to do), B. dealing with all the unknowns, like parts missing, parts fitting incorrectly, are all the bolts there?? etc, and C. after having done all the work they have a boat worth $5,000 if they are lucky.

While the boat is cool it isn't a must have (even within the formula community), people who are capable of working on boats to that level are going to do it on something big. Everyone else just wants to get on the water.

Either finish it and ask more, donate for a tax deduction, or lower the price.

Parting it out ?? how long does that take? for someone who needs it gone quick it doesn't sound like time is a luxury you have.

$1000 would be more likely to make it go away.

And yet if this boat was a Powerplay XLT 185 you'd have people lined up to buy it. In the 18 foot performance category you have that Powerplay, a Donzi, and then everything else.
