I posted this in the QandA section but thought I'd add it here too in hope of finding someone that might have an answer?

I want to know if anyone has run a motec display with a mercury engine that usually uses smart craft (I'm looking at re powering with 300 verado). I've been told it can be done but I want to know if the motec display will show all the usual written warnings and displayable data that the smartcraft gauges or vessel view would?
I am interested in running the motec display so I can mount directly over steering column in front of my eyes and vessel view won't fit there in my dash.
Is there any tricks to getting everything to talk or is it simply plug and play?
