Default Looking for Pictures of a certain Apache...

Hi everyone,

A while back I came across some pictures of an unbeleiveably beautiful Yellow 47' Apache, number 69 on a post here on OSO. One photo showed it's triple engines (chrome with some teal blue), and another showed it docked in a harbor on a cloudy day. I fell in love with that boat so much, I wanted to print a picture of it and hang it on my wall!

However now that I actually have color ink (LOL!) I can't find the photos. They were on a post, but I can't find the post, and I don't see the pictures i'm looking for in the Apache Gallery here on OSO. If the owner or anyone who has pictures of this boat doesn't mind, could you post them in a reply here or could you PM them to me?

It was of this boat (photo from OSO member Hot Duck)

Thank you so much!

Freeze Frame has some original photos of that boat in New Jersey a few years ago.

A bunch of us were honored as Legends of Offshore, at the Point Pleasant race. Some of us were asked to be on the pace boats used for the various classes. I was lucky enough to be on this Apache and Rocky Aoki was on another Apache. Freeze Frame was covering that race weekend and took some really nice shots of the boat.

Jeff of Freeze Frame is a good guy and would help you get the photos of your choice.

I am the original builder of that 47 Race Apache. The current owner of the boat is Rob Melica from New Jersey. He has done an amazing job in preservation of this Apache History.

Mark, I'm surprised no one has stepped up to the pump to bring back Little Ceasars to life. What a great 47' Apache with a racing history!!

I have a vintage copy of Boatracing magazine with that on the cover. Would love the original of this shot to frame. Was way cool seeing it in person at the Point Pleasant race

Agreed as these Apache 47's approach 30 years old the value of collecting history will increase. Triple or twin very enjoyable to restore and recreate.

why would the value increase? by looking at the classifieds most all the apaches for sale except for some 36, 38; the larger boat have not sold…and continue to not sell. didn't a white race 41 sell not long ago for 40-60k running with fresh power….there is a 28' for $12,000. really? people are jumping all over these boats ergo making the value increase? really? of course they are cool, and amazing hull design from 40 years ago, but really? would love to hear the exact logic and details as to how the values increase besides a high dollar resto invoice….

Was supposed to be Bens 47 race boat wasn't it? If I remember wasnt that boat shipped up to MI but the trouble started before he made it up there? Could be way off. I may have a few pictures of it on a computer somewhere but not sure of the quality/size. I probably saved it from this website, or another years ago

I herd the feds took the boat and the spare engines on the way to MI. And it was in storage for years and then it went up for auction.
