Default Replacement iron heads for Edelbrock RPM performer

Have a modified 454 with aluminum marine edelbrock RPM performer heads. Which are rotted out due to saltwater use. What would be the best cast iron replacement head? So that way we don’t run into the same issue again. Having trouble finding iron heads around 110cc combustion chamber. Any thoughts what best fix would be?

Oval Intake Ports
110cc Combustion Chamber
Includes 2.25" Intake/1.89" Exhaust Valves

THANKS TOM

One of the better factory GM large oval port head is the 781. I think the CC is 118, I cant remember, but you could get them milled to get it down to 110.

Dont think they are easy to find though.

EDIT:

I searched through Summit and I only found one set of ovals that are cast iron, but they are bare and still need to be milled if you want them at 110 cc chambers.

What about a set of aluminum heads that have been hard-anodized? Either that or go with closed cooling - problem solved!

Like you said, finding an iron head with the smaller chambers may be a tough task. I think a 2.19 intake and 1.88 exhaust valve would actually work better with the smaller bore of the 454. The only iron head that comes to mind for me would be the Merlin ovals, but they usually have the larger chambers.

The 820 casting GM heads are very similar to the 781 / 049 casting but have a 114 cc chamber. I have a set that already have the 2.19 intakes installed and some pocket porting if someone wants them.

I couldnt remember 049 was the sister head to 781 to save my life there, thanks for that reminder.

Closed cooling saves cast iron from salt too.

If you go with new Dart or world products heads your exhaust won't line up. The new head castings have raised exhaust ports. Better off finding some old 049's or 781 's and have them redone
