Any structural concerns with one of these hanging off the transom? I could forsee a lot of people standing on it if you had it. Like at least 1000lbs worth.

As long as you dont have 9 heffers on the back partying on it, I dont see a problem ?

If the boat doesnt sit in the water like a 32 Fever, you could even use it as a shady spot while in the water.

word of warning about extended swim platforms especially at rest loaded with people on the back of them can cause water reversion. very common with smaller and or light boats with some heavy duty people laying all over them plus any waves splashing up the back side makes it even more acceptable.

Also a real PITA to do any outdrive work especially reinstalling them with extended platforms.

A buddy installed one this year on his 24' Bayliner and it is a great addition to the boat. He says it's rated for 600 lbs. It seems pretty solid and he has had no issues with it so far.

TLV you must have done some heavy duty math to come up with 9 heffers on it. Can you recalculated your math for 8 heffers to see if that would work.

The Bayliner is rated for 600 lbs that's 2.5 worth of dudes hanging out on the back of it. Maybe 2 dudes max by todays standards.

If it holds 9, then it will hold 8 as long as they are eating a king size Snickers and drinking diet coke!

I forgot to mention...you probably shouldnt be underneath it using it for shade....while there is in fact 9 heffers on it.

I do have two buddy's at about 250. One owns his own boat though. Anyone else would be a 200lb or less dude or 130lb Chics.

I'd crawl off the side of the boat and use it as a shade...seriously, as large as that is, I see it being nothing but an issue. You know how it goes...."it will hold as many people as there is room." Next thing you know its ripped off the back of the boat and hanging on by one bracket. I had a big factory platform on the back of an all composite supra and one of the bolts pulled through on that. The problem is, you know its good for 600 lbs, the minute you turn your back and walk away, 8 people, hopefully not heifers will be bouncing off the back of it.
