Default Looking to replace a standard rotation Evinrude lower unit. Who sells them reman?

Looking for reputable referrals that might not always show up in the Top 50 Google searches.
Doing some preventative maintenance and looking for a re-manufactured unit on a 30 inch 2001 250HP Evinrude standard rotation unit.
Any help is appreciated.

Might want to look up SEI. Not sure if they have what you need or not, but worth a look. http://www.sterndrive.cc/Johnson-Evi...wer-Units.html I had one of their Bravo lowers and it performed flawless, until I hit an underwater obstruction (out of warranty)... Their 3 year no questions warranty will cover impact damage, mine was 14 days outside of the warranty. I called them and they explained that because their warranty is so open that they really can't make exceptions. Since I got 3 yrs and 14 days out of a $900 unit, I didn't complain. If I ever need a lower for my Opti max motors, I will have no problem buying from them again.

302Sport, you posted while I was typing mine........... Great minds think alike. Did they reduce their warranty across the board or is the warranty less on the OB stuff? My Bravo was 3 yr.

Again thanks. BillR in researching this I came across your thread on The Hull Truth about if switching to a 4 blade might be a contributing factor. I always wondered that myself as I went to Rev4's too.

With the J/E lowers they do not come with the drive shaft and shift rod (use you old ones). Also set you shift rod height just before install.

Correct info from MRV and you have to measure for proper height of the shift rod after you installed it and do this before you reinstall your lower unit. Their is a special measuring tool thru OMC or some will use a measuring tape to check proper shift rod height. FYI

Most likely you not get the drain plugs either from SEI. I know for a fact you will not get the nuts/bolts and anodes.

MRV I take you are tech who works on outboards?
