No pity for any of them, sorry. YES, the fisherman was malicious and vengeful in his actions; but if the only way to traverse a narrow portion of the lake legally without throwing a wake is to come off plane and idle...
...then that's what you do.

Or turn around and go the other way.

That could escalate quickly into a serious situation.

That's f-ed up!! That hook could have caused some serious damage to the kid! I see these bass fisherman all of the time, fishing right in the middle of a channel or lines out across a very narrow stretch. Then they get mad when you come thru! I've almost been hit twice by a bass boat at night, hauling ass with no lights on.

didn't you guys know that fishing is a serious thing and that they have the right of way for everything........not like us punk azz powerboaters that ride up and down the water way and waste gas and drink beer.thats a waste of time.you guys should show proper respect to those bass holes.

Agreed. Wake board boat is an idiot for coming through that small of a passage at speed but fisherman is an even bigger dumbass for firing a lure at someone.

Not to mention the OP says it's a 400 acre lake. Unless that is a typo, it should be no wake on the whole thing in my opinion. 400 acres is tiny.

I think both parties are to blame in this situation, and it kind of ties to another thread that neither one of these types of boaters have any regard for anyone else on the lake. Sydwayz is right that the guy should have came of plane or turned around and went back in the opposite direction, Tombstone is also right that the fisherman should not have been floating in the middle of a narrow channel knowing that other boats would have to pass at a closer distance. Again this goes back to people not having any respect for anyone else and this does not pertain only to the water I see it on a constant basis on the road, in the store, etc...

That being said, if that S.O.B threw a lure at me the cops would have been called but it have been to recover a body not write a ticket.
