There was a Sutphen for sale in CT that meets that exact criteria.

Rabco was building their 28 with a single Yanmar and I am sure nor tech would do the same. Not sure if you want to spend that kind of money though

not looking for i/o but true inboard, shaft- transmission set up... not looking to spend more than 25 to 30k, plus shipping, plus importation fees, etc, etc... that after purchase stuff gets to costing more than the boat itself lol... thx tho

Some of the old panga's used to be inboards, with a 4 cylinder Perkins diesel or equivalant, simple straight shaft with tranny. You might be able to find one laying around, or one of the older builders may be able to put one together for you. Might be able to find an old derelict that can be fixed up on the cheap.

See Vee and Strike, there are many 29 strikes out there, twin Cummins B's and a few 26 Strike with single diesel true inboards nice boats low freeboard but glide through the water good for billfish.
