FWIW. There's a 353 on our pond with 525 EFIs runs mid 80s.

I have a 2000 382 with stock 500EFIs. Have had BBLades tune in the 28 bravo 4 blades until she runs 77.5 GPS with my wife and in the boat and about 80 degree ambient temp. No extension boxes.

Im betting with top-end tuned props 525 EFIs (giving up midrange efficiency) will get you to 80. Maybe 82.

On a GOOD day....yes.

I had a 2002 382 w/o boxes. Bought it with 8PSI Prochargers on 500efis and it ran 98!!! Turned them into 9.8:1 540's with heads/cam/TB and made 630hp/700tq full dressed at Precision Marine. Boat ran 82-83 any day and 87 with the right props/conditions.

No 525's and Bravo's. Never lost a drive, but the Arneson's work great on the 38 Fastech's. The added bonus is the free 10mph you pick up just by changing drives.
