Looking at my first 292 !
What is the diff between and 01 and 02? I found an 01 with 100 hrs on it or an 02 with 600 on it, just wondering if the hull was the same?
I also found an 07 I I am looking at, I like the new models a bit more, especially the exhaust! What year did they switch it?
I guess at the end of the day, you guys know formulas what would you suggest ? The cost diff to move up 6 model years is around 20 to 30k. What one will hold it's value more?
Also do you suggest 5.7s or 6.2s?
Appreciate the help!

if the budget allows, I would recommend going with the 2007. They are a bit more refined than the earlier model years. For motors, I have the 6.2's and they run great. Boat will run close to 70 under right conditions but really shine in the mid-range acceleration.
Let me know if you have any more questions and I'll be glad to help.

2005 they changed the shifters, steering wheel and dash gauges. The hulls I belive are identical even on the brand new ones. I have a 2004 loaded with the 6.2's. If you can find one with external steering I would recommend it. That is the only upgrade in my wish list. Great all around boat and with the small blocks and Bravo drives is a near bullet proof package.

01 to 02 practically zero difference. check out the catalogs in the vintage section. I even think the imron packages were the same. Maybe a new graphic option, but other than that identical. Coops is correct, 05 switched the dashes to Livorsi gauges instead of gaffrig, added more silver vinyl accents in cockpit and cabin to go with all the new chrome and also lost the silent thunder box.
As for the hull, believe the same molds are still being used now that were used then. As for valve, the newer models obviously have more value in them than the older ones because they are newer. Which just means there is that much more to lose in it, but in the end its really subjective. A boat is worth whatever you pay for it.
