It's really tough to beat Mayfair for the money. You get a more complete kit for less money than just about any other kit out there. With that being said, i also use IMCO, especially for a twin. IMCO has an awesome set up that mounts between the 2 drives on a triangle mount.

I see you have a single, so the mayfair kit would be around $3400 or so. Let me know if I can help.

Zeiger builds a great setup, and can be had for reasonable money. Recently completed a 22 Donzi setup, kit was perfect!

I second the zieger, especially on the Baja. I installed the zieger setup and with the shorter stroke cylinders that they come with you won't have to worry about the rams being in the way of k planes ect. Also if your Baja has the battery trays that run full length to the transom with the Mayfair kit you'd have to cut into the glass to get to the bottom mounting bracket bolts I do believe. Not taking anything away from either setup they will both do the job but i feel on the single bravo app having the shorter stroke cylinders give you room to do anything you want. Good luck!

Mayfair has a kit that puts the rams only 9" from the gimble. They also have one that puts the rams way out there, but I never use that one. Like you said, it's get in the way of the trim tabs. There shorter stroke kit stays in nice and tight.

Yes the trays run on each side of motor. I was looking to get Mayfair. If I would go with Mayfair short stroke will I have to cut in the battery trays? Also will the short stroke take away from sharp turns? Thank you for all your opinions..

If you went with the short stroke kit you'd be good to go. You Can install relatively
Easily with the engine in the boat. When running the hoses down the gunwale be sure to route away from anything that it can chafe on. Also I found with my boat the harder we ran all the cables hoses and wiring wasn't supported well enough and it would break all the cable ties. I made a rig tube out of a piece of 6" PVC cut in half and glassed it in. But if you don't want to go though all that find some heavy duty angle brackets and use the thick cable ties with the metal clicker to hold everything up.

Zieger builds the best steering system period from their custom rams to their tie bars.
