Hey guys. I'm starting my first mild build for my Baja. Starting out with the bottom end of course and just wanted to see what brands everyone recommends for parts..... My game plan as of right now is 4.25" stroke crank and of course new rods and pistons. Wanna do either stock bore or as little bore as needed for the block depending what my machine shop says after checking the block but what's everyone recommend using for parts???

P.S. It's a 454 (330) block

And my goal is 500 hp and retain 89 octane

After building a 4.25" stroked 454 (now a 496), I wish I would have just bought the 502. I spent almost $2k with just the machining and balancing... My suggestion is to start with a different block.
