So my engine was overheating. Found part of the last raw water impeller stuck to the oil cooler. In an effort to ensure no more clogs, I removed most of the cooling system. It's all back together now. (Waiting on gaskets SUCKS).
One Issue.
When I tried running it on the hose tonight, water comes pressurized out the bottom of the gasket between the water pump plate and the lower unit (the raw water pump is in the lower unit).
Is this because
1. The gasket is faulty? (Looks 100% to me).
2. I put something on wrong? (Not likely)
3. I keep my house at 80+ PSI water pressure.
In the lake, the lower units intake would never see 80 PSI let alone like 10!
So... Do I just open the house water line less to run on the hose?
In attempt at a better seal I removed the gasket and put anaerobic gasket maker on both sides of it and bolted it all back up.
I was going to wait 24 hrs before trying again.
Anyone else have this issue? I really want to hit the lake this weekend, but won't risk overheating my boat... Even if it's just my home water pressure, I keep close tabs on my gauges....
Someone tell me it will be all ok before I lose it.... I blew the engine in my favorite jet ski last week, had to replace 2 engines in another, and now my truck won't blow air from the dash or floor. I get defrost on max ac!
Can't seem to win this month....
