When people like Carl Kiekhaefer, Don Aroniw and Bob Magoon choose an 8 foot beam over a 7 foot beam, believe me they were not interested in highway performace.

These 8 foot wide boats were designed to run in real open ocean racing conditions, not beach racing in circles 100 yards off the beach.
