Default 40 outlaw w/ modded 575's

Found a 2003 40 OL with a pair of 575 SCi's and XR's for sale. Broker said boat came from LOTO and doesnt know too much about performance boats. However the engines have 8-71's from the blower shop and SuperChillers. Apeared to be pretty stock looking other than that. Anyone know what kind of performance to expect out of this boat? What kind of extra power would the 8-71's and intercoolers add over the stock 550hp?

Troper on here has a very similar setup on his 40. Shoot him a pm and he can fill u in. I believe he is in the mid-upper 80's but don't quote me.

Focus more on the drives and less on the horsepower.

How much boost? Stock cam? Ecu programmed? Stock fuel system?

I would want to know who did the work and what was done, so many possible changes to these engines. Are you a DIY guy?

My guess is 675-780hp depending on boost, cam and tuning

I wish I had answers to most of these, the broker seems to have limited knowledge of what’s been done. I did see some large Aeromotive fuel pumps I’m pretty sure didn’t come from Baja. I’m pretty mechanical and do almost all my own work (Less fiberglass and machine shop work).

The boat is still winterized and the broker wanted a commitment to buy and to pay to have a mechanic go through the engines before a trial or even firing them on the muffs... I have an issue making an offer on a boat I can’t hear run even on a hose.

Like Keith said, that’s a lot of HP to be pushing through an XR in a 12,000 lb boat.

Those are the 250 size blower shop blowers, with chillers. Whoever told you 871 doesn't know much about....anything

Great blowers, much more stout than the stock 256 blower the 575sck came with. Very common replacement when a stock blower is broken beyond repair

With that blower, on a 3.5 pulley, aero motive fuel system and some programming 650-675hp. If the cam has been changed 700 ish.

Tropers boat was a few mph shy of 80 before swapping to 871s
Low to mid 80s after w/no chillers
If your running those in the pics w/chillers I'd bet you'll see 80
Be careful w/bravo drives as he's gone through a few
Good luck in your search those are great looking boats and have lots of elbowroom
See ya
