Looks like we are heading over from OZ for the 2014 Key west Boat races
Accomodation looks tough to get and pricey

Ive been to Miami but never down to Key west

im thinking trying to drive down there will suck, getting close to boats and pits

was going to try get accomodation in Key west

any thing you can give me the heads up on would be geat

Seriously, the drive down from Miami is awesome and everyone should experience it at some time. Very scenic. Depending on what day you drive dish you can time it to be at Gilbert's as the poker runners pull in for lunch.

Also, flying into Fort Lauderdale is much easier and I know it's cheaper at times too.

Not only check on hotels but check condos and vacation rentals. Once you're there you won't really need your rental car, just a strong liver.

There's flights into key west from Miami FYI. But they are PRICEY!

Only negative is hotel price on key west really.

Everything else is the ****. One of the most fun times you will have, promise.

Try a bed and breakfast. Hotels in the oldtown will be full by now.

Get a scooter rental so you can ck out the island. Only way to travel down there.

We will be there from the 1st to the 10th!

Flight for 2 from TX to KW- $1200
2 bedroom condo in Truman Annex for 9 days- $3000
VIP tickets for the races for 2- $550
Partying tab for 9 days- $$$$$$$$$$$$$

Scooter rental is the only way to fly. They give you an idea of where you're supposed to take them on the island.....but we took them all over, including the highway that runs around the island
