I was at the Pelican a local hangout (The only one) at the Ross Barnett in Jackson, Ms when a guy came up to me and told me he was looking for me for 2 weeks and that his wife wanted my baby and for me to name my price. Being in sales everything I own is for sale so I thought about it for an hour and gave him a figure I would take. He looked pleased and said it sounded good to him and now he's ordered a survey for next week, I am 85 percent sure he will buy the boat. I have looked online and I can not find a nice Baja 405 to replace it with (If anyone knows of a low hour perfect boat let me know). I am also considering a Formula 400 SS. If anyone can give me some insight let me know. I love the one I have now and would get another in a heartbeat but there are more 400 SS's available and that's the only one that comes close to the looks of the Baja 405.

Good luck with that decision. In 2008 I had a guy after my 382, I named a price and he wanted to come see/survey it BAD......but I just couldn't go through with it. 16-18 months later I did sell it, for about 70% of what "that guy" was willing to pay. I still came out OK on the deal financially, I simply wasn't ready to sell earlier. If your getting good money, sell it and move on. If not, cut the guy off before he spends any money trying to close your deal.
BTW: I'm a Formula fan, having owned several. The 400SS is an awesome boat IMO. More of a "cruiser" than the 405 (I like it too). Just depends on what you want your boat to do.

Not a Baja or a Formula but it is at least comparable!
Not saying this is a good or bad deal, just that there are more options.

Not a boat, but i kind of know how you feel about someone coming to "adopt" one of your "babies".
I have an all original 1969 Camaro RS/SS 396 convertible - 4sp, power top, deluxe int, etc. Red with black top/int. It's the car I always wanted, and it lived its whole life on the west coast so it's never had any rust. I've owned it since '96. I had a guy calling me about once a month back in 2007 offering me high 50's for the car. Could have probably pressed him for $60K if I had wanted to sell it at the time, but I didn't really want to part with it, as tempting as those numbers were. Fast forward to today, and I would probably do well to get mid-high 40's for the car, since the bottom fell out of the market with the economy crashing. Such is life.

I didn't think about Black Thunder but have you been in one? I've never been in a 405 but have spent a good amount of time in a BT......pretty sure a BT is a lot bigger than the Baja 405. (but not as big as the 400SS)
