I use a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser to take off the chalky stuff, then go over it with 1 coat of polish and 1 coat of wax. Work's good and looks good too.

Never tried the magic eraser. Depending how bad the chalk is and if it's gel and not paint. Start with 800 to wack it down. Then go to 1000 and 1500 then buff with vibra cut, with a good wool pad. Then swap to a foam pad. Then if you really want to bring the shine out, a trick I use is get a black foam pad, and 3M machine polish and a few squirts of water to keep it from binding up and go over it fairly quick

same here i buy them by the case lol. They work great on vinyl as well. Keep in mind they are actually a micro abrasive so if you do use them on gel you will need to buff at some point. I like them for pre washing prior to buffing but usually use them to remove scuffs and stuff. Never tried them to knock down the chalky-ness. I use something similar for that, Mirka Abralon disks on a DA in one two and three thousand.

Doh ! You made it sound like you use them to knock down the chalkiness.

I retract my statement then. LOL.

no you can use them for that but you will most likely have to buff afterwards. I suspect it would work exactly like the Abralon pads I use but didnt really think about it till Pachanga mentioned it up there, sounds like a good method to knock it down.
