Nothing really, the bores need honing, one has a couple small chips from rod hitting oil pan rail but no actual damage, the thing is I am spending big money to do my new engines and if I use these my bore is near max and I am going to be close or exceeding max HP rating for stock blocks (700) so I don't wanna take chances and need room for future error, if I had less hp or didn't beat the living tar out of the boat I would uses these blocks..simple as that.

Also have Gen6 548 CI rotating assembly needs things balanced and cleaned up, I hurt one engine this is from the other that still ran, the guy that built them didn't check anything like crank throw clearances and such, so there are spots on pistons from that not a huge deal and can be taken care of, probably cut crank .010 balance it and assemble, ask any questions text 440-476-4114
Asking 950.00 cost 2100.00 new..have a few pistons and rods from other engine for additional cost.
Also have 2 roller cams 114LCA .578 lift .236/[email protected]
Factory style roller lifters and dogbones 2 sets...

How much for a complete disassembled short block and how much more you think you would have into additional machining needed and balancing, and also a guess what else you would have into the additional parts needed to assemble the short blocks?

That all depends who you know, some guys are cheaper then others.... hard to say.. all blocks need machined even new ones, so that don't matter... balancing is needed anyway even with new stuff, so basically all depends... they sell balanced rotating but I am having everything rebalanced and checked when I get it all...

What would your guy do it at a non friend price and ballpark within a few 100 of what else in parts
Just curious as I am rethinking my ways of putting any more money into a SBC when I can almost get into a BBc for the same money

How much hp do you think you can get out of the good disassembled block? I got a jet boat project I am slooooowly working on. I need an engine for it but don't need it anytime soon. Was thinking you could drop that stuff off on brook park.
