.

Is this the same widened hull that SOS Venezuela is competing with in the K.W. Worlds?

.

I understand that there are many factors in making a cat go faster than another similarly built cat.

but in keeping with the article above about the widening of SOS V., what is the tunnel width dimension of Talbot's new DW as opposed to the tunnel width dimension of SOS V. ?

Either Matt or myself will ask Kyler when we see him in the pits this week and get back with you. I don't know for sure what the difference is.

All of the "new" Doug Wright have 32-inch tunnels, which is per the technical rules (you can download them from the SBI site) the maximum for the stock. For the sake of parity, there is a tunnel width to weight ratio that I will paraphrase (feel free to look up the specific) simply by saying the wider the tunnel, the heavier the boat.

Kyler Talbot's new cat does have new features, including a fully enclosed, safety capsule. Grant Bruggemann of Grant's Signature Racing did all the rigging and included plenty of custom touches in the 32-foot masterpiece. And you can read all about it in the upcoming Nov/Dec issues of Speed On The Water digital magazine.
