I was looking at the results on Superboat.com and the speed averages between some of the classes are surprising.
Unlimited
Miss Gieco cat with 1650 81mph
Cms cat with 1650 79.01 mph
Lucas oil vee with 1075? 75.08mph
Supercat
Broadco cat with 750 80.24mph
Stihl cat 750 82.08mph but broke
Superboat extreme
Twisted metal vee with 800-850 80 mph
Hooters instigator vee with 800-850 79.20 mph

gieo looked to me to back off a bit after they got out front a ways. what were the best single lap speeds per class on sunday if anyone knows.

Geico pulled 89.2 mph on lap 1.

Based on the speeds posted, if they were ALL in one class, there would be 18+/- boats, that would be great racing!

REMEMBER , that there were 4 separate races held on Sunday at 10, 12:30 . 1:30 and 2:30 the winds shifted almost 180 degrees during that time frame and the tides changed big, since it was a full moon. So the point is the conditions were a bit different for each race, but all in all it was ROUGH for all three races.

The old turn point was at Dry Tortugas.......what were the wave heights out there........any body know?
