Default going on vacation on the boat in the Miami area suggestions needed

I'm thinking of going on vacation this year in March in the Miami area. I'm am in school full time and the only time I get off is during spring break (March) I was thinking of trailering my Formula 242 down to the Miami area and instead of staying in a hotel, stay at some of the marinas that accommodate transient boaters. I'm am looking for marinas that have laundry facilities and showers for the girlfriend and I. Has anybody done this (staying on board instead of motel)? I am figuring that we can go out during the day and drive around in the truck if we don't want to stay on the boat. Does anybody have recommendations on what are some good marinas. Im not stuck on the Miami area, but just want somewhere warm away from the Michigan snow.

Try Bayshore Landings has everything you need. Right in the heart of Coconut Grove. Monty's is right at the end of the dock. Your girlfriend will love all the shops in the grove, plenty to do and very safe and secure area.

SW Florida will be calmer this time of year, Fort Meyers is a great area with Salty Sams for dockage or for more dollars and a pool and beach access you have the Pink Shell'

Other alternative is trailer the boat down to Marathon and keep it at Boot Key Harbor and enjoy the Keys and the Blue water,Sombrero Resort & Marina is a marina you may want to look into their website sucks but it has a pool ,slips and a tiki bar.

Here is a campground with slips by your campsite and a good ramp and safe trailer storage all at a reasonable price.2 minutes to the Alantic and if it is rough you go under the 7 mile bridge and go on the Gulf side which is 5 minutes away.

I have camped down there many times There is also a great Tikibar with pool just a few steps away with a great happy hour and view.

if you stay in boot harbor you could store your trailer safely here also.

The Keys are true Florida living and you will spend half the cash you will in Miami with a 10 times better boating

All good suggestions also maybe start in Miami area. Run to the keys and stay and then back. All depends on timeframe and cash available.
