Question Electric Engine Hatch on a 260?

I recently purchased a 2000 260 Legend and was very surprised to find that it didn't have an electric lift on the engine hatch. Has anyone seen a 260 with an electric lift like this or have they always been manual? I'm considering the idea of adding one which doesn't seem like it would be that difficult, but I am interested to hear everyone's thoughts.

Thanks,

Craig

Any chance you could post some pictures of the mounting points for the jack?

Interested in what you find out. I have a 95 270lazer and can't find the right gas springs to hold up the hatch since I replaced the plywood and upholstery. Electric would be awesome just wonder on best mounting location not to put to much stress on the whole hatch.

My thought is to keep the gas springs in addition to the actuator to minimize the stress on the hatch. We'll see what information we can find out.
