A buddy of mine is waiting for his CMI exhaust and wants to go boating this weekend. He just did a cam change and I am wondering if it will cause him reversion problems. The cam is in a 454 and is a hydraulic flat tappet. Specs are 228/235 @ .050" on a 112+4 installation. The lift is .540". Anyone know how far the stock exhaust manifolds can be pushed regarding this? Thanks, Craig.

Thanks for the replys. That is kinda what I thought. We will bump the idle up a bit and give it a rev and shut it down at 1100 or 1200 rpm. He only will need to use it this way for this weekend, then the CMI's will be in and there will be no prob.
