Default Mercury Racing Class 1 850 hp Quad Cam stern drive

Was looking on the mercury website and found this motor. Has this been out awhile? Looks like a great motor to bridge the gap for mercury.

I haven't seen any previous press info on it, looks from that one head on shot to have smaller turbos, would have thought they could have got 850hp N/A out of that motor without too much effort, so interesting it still is turbocharged.

Yea front picture looks to be the same as the 1100. Maybe just lower boost and less rpm? On a side note I would think it would last a long time if that's the case.

An NA DOHC 557 should be able to make 850hp.

850 hp is probably doable, but not easily on 89 oct and 557ci. Much easier to make that big fat torque curve with turbos on 89oct and 557ci.This is basically if not exactly the motors that went into the MTI that went over seas to race this past summer.

You are correct. I saw them sitting on the floor at MTI this spring.

I read the title too fast and saw it as Mercury Racing 1,850hp. Got really excited.
