I am doing new stringers and a transom in my boat this winter. I would like to put a natural gas heater in the ceiling of my garage to heat it to a sufficient temperature for the resin layup. The garage is kind of small its a 25x30 with 10' ceilings, the boat is 27' so it will be a tight fit. Would the natural gas ceiling heater be a explosion waiting to happen? Thanks for any advise / input.

Build a cocoon around the boat and duct it to the outside.

When I did mine I ripped 2x4's in half and then ripped some 3/8" bows to build an enclosure inside the shop. This keeps the dust and the fumes contained. Then go to Harbor Freight and get the inline blower and duct it out a window.

Thanks for the advise, I found the 8" inline blower at harbor freight. Did you use the blower to bring fresh air in or blow the fumes outside?

I used it to blow fumes and dust outside.

Get yourself a respirator to that works on VOC's - purple stripe on the cartridges.

Or get really really bombed..... Dont ask me how I know this....

Thanks for the advise, I've never worked with fiberglass. I have been reading practically all of glassdaves post though, I now feel like a expert with no experience haha.

Go ahead and get the heater and try it out. You can get out of a boat quick when it catches on fire (ask me how I know). Use the insurance money from the garage and boat burning to buy a bigger boat.

Does your trailer I'm planing on using to get my boat in my shop have a curse on it for burning boats
