Anyone have a 38 zx daytona (with extension boxes and HP500)? What props are you running?

Im running the same. Best I've seen was 78 mph. Only once though, and it was very cold. Have you tried any other props and what are you seeing for numbers?

We have seen 74 gps @ 5000 rpm but were always loaded. 4 or 5 people, coolers fuel etc.

My 38zx has 28p props and best iv seen with 5 guys, and coolers. Was 71.8 GPS but i only get 4800rpm also not a daytona

We are usually in the. 48-4900 rpm range. Conditions and load have to be just right to get 5000, may send the props out to be labbed in the spring to get the extra 200 rpm. Have also thought about switching to -1 lowers since the boats with its have the same x dimension as those with std transom assemblies mounted right on the transom.

Guess i should be happy with my speed.

Are you seeing 78 on the pitot speedometer or gps?

Gps. Ive only seen it once though. Usually it will do 74-75 without a problem.

Have an 01 38 Daytona with stock 575sci. Runs 31p lab at 81-83.
