good day.. to all...

question...?
my project boat had ssm3 on it....stripped, sold, and now refitting ....
should I put ssm3a back on or up grade to the 6's. or a different brand.....
ive read posts about the different ssm and other brands... i got info... but need the words of wisdom from you all...

boat is a 42 cig, cx yanmar diesels , 600 hp, 400 gallons fuel. boat weight is unknown

6's for a 42 Cig or any boat in that size range is best.

In my opinion, I would use the #3A, if only for the cost difference you would incur by switching to the #6 drive. I'm assuming that you still have the #3 gimbals and the transom is cut for the #3 drive. A #3A will take the 600hp and parts, ie gears etc. are still available. #6 gimbals and drives are really expensive compared to the #3A's.

Keep in mind a 600hp diesel will have at least 1000ft. Lbs of torque.
