A little lengthy , Here's the deal.
We bought used, nice shape cmi flat flange 500efi e top headers, and 525 efi diverters to install in a 29 Fountain with 454's .So far we put the 2 inside headers on to trial fit. One header exit flange is further away from the transom then the other. The starboard engine, port side header flange is further from the transom, and the diverter goes on the header and y pipe, with the end a couple inches from the transom, and is close to the transom exit hole. However the port engine, starboard side , is closer to the transom, and the y pipe connection is way off towards the transom and the back hits the transom. Looking at the diverters, all are the same distance from the flange to the y pipe connection. So either all header flanges would need to all be the same distance from the y pipes to work, (they're not), or the diverters would have to have staggered y pipe flanges,( they're not).
I know they're not made for this boat ,just seeing if we could modify a little and make them fit.
Posted here because I'm looking for answers / ideas, and if we can't use them,will offer them up for sale / or trades to possibly get our install going, and/ or benefit another oso member.
Again;
They are CMI 500 efi headers, flat flange, e tops, and CMI / corsa ( called cmi to verify )flat flange with electric actuators 2 sets of each for twins. They are used, in nice shape, and pressure tested. My budget will never allow for new, also well, if your married,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, nuff said.
Thanks,
Dale
