Default 280 vs. 380

Has anyone switched from the 280 kplanes to a set of 380's on a twin 28? How did the boat react to it?

I switched them on my 382 Formula. They made a big difference, I really like them. Back in the day they ran bigger tabs than that on the old 27-30 ft race boats so I think you would like them. I have extension boxes so I didn't have to trim much off them. Just a little of the corner. With out the boxes I would have had to trim a lot more off and wouldn't have ended up with much more tab than the 280. Make sure you buy the right ones, there is a difference in the bolt size of the Kiekhaefer's and the Merc Racing tabs that connects them to the transom plate.

I swapped them out on my 28 apache. I found it helped quite a bit as the 28 is prone to porpoise at 45- 55 mph, not nearly as aggressive tab was required in order to steady the porpoise which resulted in a faster speed...

Thanks for the reply. I have buddy buddy with a set sitting in his garage. I figured it couldnt hurt to give them a try. My pantera will porpoise around that same speed if i dont use alot of tab. Just want to get some feed back from someone that has tried them.
