Default 87 scarab excel 26 convert to bravo is it worth it?

I have a 87 scarab excel 26, was thinking about converting it to a bravo it is a alpha 1, 1:32 now. I have all the parts to do it just wondering if anyone has done it and if so is it worth it, does anyone have any real mph numbers I could go off of. Really the only reason I want to do it is to put more hp to the boat for more speed, although it is such a steep v I don't know if it'll ever go much faster because of how much it's cutting at all times. I'm not trying to make a 50 mph boat go 100 like some other posts on here, just looking for some info especially if someone's already done it to this hull. Currently new crate 454 330 hp 750 carb with headers, cam unknown but will run 5100 with 21 pitch mirage plus at 52-55 gps. I will post a picture of the hull when I can get it to work. Thanks in advance

87 was the only year they put alphas behind big blocks. bravo is actually a tiny bit slower than alpha with same power-rpm-prop. slightly larger cross section of the bullet. you won't be getting any speed from the bravo. what you will get is the ability to push on the throttle without sweating bullets. and then you can get a cam-heads-carb that will get you some speed-and would snap that alpha vert shaft like a twig...i downgraded my crownline from bravo to alpha last year cuz i bought a bravo hull with no power and i had a whole paid-for small block alpha setup. now i am shopping for a small bravo boat to swap everything over in. or just junk hull and keep the alpha setup. but a 26 with a bbc-alpha i am surprised you aren't a member of the outdrive of the week club. definately do the swap if you have the chance. best way is to buy a bravo boat that sat in the sun till the interior rotted away and un-winterized motor cracked or siezed...

I've already blown one lower, so I guess I should just run it and just be easy on and off throttle , I also have a spare on shop shelf. Just though if I wanna put more power to it , like a 502 efi I'd have to convert. But unless I could see a big change in mph with more HP its probably not worth my time.
