Default trim tab mounting

I finally got my new trim tabs - they are going on a 1991 Baja 280ES w twin 454s and bravos.

QUESTION....
mount horizontal to water -or- horizontal to dead rise?

Pros/Cons?

Thanks in advance!

There was a big discussion on this in the past and it seems to be a matter of preference. I moved mine to parallel with the water and liked it better at cruise. It would scrub less speed as the tabs weren't "digging in" as much. Didn't make much difference at WFO.

Yes, discussed in a prior thread, BUT;

Why would Cigarette mount them parallel to the "V" on side by sides, but parallel to water line on staggared? Referring to most pre-2000 setups, "old school".

Mount them on the back, they are WAY more effective there than on the floorboard of the truck.

Mine are mounted with the deadrise.

Tough to tell from this pic but on my 24 they are mounted horizontally i.e not with the deadrise.

I'm sure it's partially due to the size of the tabs, but the boat is VERY sensitive to tab placement, which I believe is a characteristic of mounting them horizontally.

I'm not sure why you'd have them down and be at high speed, but I was told not to try a a high speed corner with tabs mounted this way or they could "trip" the boat much like a motorcycle cornering hard and scraping a foot peg.
