Lake Cumberland Marine does really not intend on being a high performance dealership any more. I don't think they are dealers for any performance maufacturers at this point. They want to sell sea doos, runabouts, ski boats and pontoon boats and do great service work. They are doing really good service work but it is really disappointing to go in there and see so many average boats, when their showroom had more eye candy than just about anywhere in the world. I know it's a good business plan, but I don't even stop in there anymore.
The show is pretty big and something to do though, I go every year, but don't plan on seeing much performance stuff. There is a separate show for the houseboats, or rather there used to be!
Might as well go and enjoy whats there.

Used to go every year, and ten years ago there was some decent eye candy out there to look at - Fountain, Cig, Formula, Sonic, PowerQuest, and Baja were all well represented. As was said, now pretty much all you will see is cruisers, deck boats, a few runabouts, and a slew of pontoons and bass boats. Admiral's Anchor used to bring out a few Baja and PowerQuest boats, but I honestly don't even know if they set up a display out there anymore. If you are looking for an opportunity to get out with the guys and knock down a few cold ones while dreaming about summer, it might be a good diversion.

I was at the Chicago Boat show last weekend. All that was there were cruisers and runabouts. Formula had 10 boats there, but none of them were Fastecs. I asked why only cruisers and open bow boats, they said that they only make about 12 Fastecs a year and that they are built to order and those boats are not brought to shows They also said that part of the market is dried up. I talked with Scott Porter for a bit, but it was more about boating on Lake Michigan, but when I asked him about Fastecs it was pretty much the same answer I got from the rest of the Formula people.
