Default Drive Slow To Engage In Forward (Bravo XR)

Been doing a lot of searching on OSO and elsewhere. One of my drives is getting slow to engage in forward. Reverse is ok (for now).

Looks to be either the cone clutch or linkage inside the upper? Cable adjustment has been confirmed.

My question is, are either of these items something that is relatively simple to replace with common handtools or do you need special Merc tools for disassembly/reassembly? I'm pretty handy, but not interested in investing in special Merc tools.

Thanks

I did get your PM. I forgot to repurchase my subscription and now I'm over quota! ha!

I'll try to give you a call after while.

Dont know if mercs internet cleanser will vaporize you if you try to post it , but with the price of xr gearsets and all, I would say you will be a hero if you post some measurements of the old upper and lower gearset clutch heights .comparing upper and lower .

Tried to call but no answer and no voicemail. Did I write down your number wrong? If you don't have voicemail, I'd guess that it was the correct number.

I would guess it's the cone clutch worn down, I had the same problem last summer, the grooves on my cone clutch were worn very thin, not hard to repair but you will need some special tools, and check the gear backlash when you put it back together
