Default Overseas coast guard documentation

Bought a boat from a dealer/broker In Florida that had overseas paperwork and was curious if anyone knew how long the coast guard documentation process takes. Keep getting the "we are working on it" response. Just curious if anyone else had similar experiences?

Months usually for me. You can call the documentation center and ask for an update.

Mine took several months but that was a domestic transaction. I also had a bump because I sent my bill of sale instead of using the USCG BOS form. My form had a problem according to their legal team so that all took longer too.
The documentation center is very helpful and if you call them they will tell you the status and they can advise any actions you need to do if so. The authorization letter only takes three weeks but the completed process is much longer. Also my process was a transfer of documentation and not an initial certification.

For the "Bunny Lounge" it took 4.5 months. They were backed up last year, file it as quick as possible, and make sure you file it right. If you call, they are extremely helpful!!!
