Default Reviving and old bird.Looking for a couple answers

I own a 88 311 454 w/bravos. Looking for length of k tab indicators. One needs to be replaced might as well do both. Also both alternators not working. Checked wiring and found only the big orange wire hooked up. Other wires taped off. Hard to believe they haven't worked in a long time. But I just got the boat. Had 4 batteries in it guy claimed it was because of the big stereo. But really neither alt was working. Havent pulled alts off yet to check where wires hook up. Any chance off single wire alts. Look like stock ones(black in color). Also where to buy new shocks for bolsters both bent. To many big girls I guess. Thanks for any help.

If you can't find a number on the cables call Formula Tag dept ( 260-724-9111 ) . Don't forget the left and right side are to different lengths.

Cable lengths are stamped/written on cable ends, last two digits of part number.

Sounds like someone who didn't know what they were doing did some electrical work. 3 wire alternators need to be wired up to charge (heavy wire to starter/voltage sensing/field/ground) and is what came from factory. If single wire alternators, they should be charging (is the plug for 3 wire alternators blanked off?, if so they are probably single wire). Either way you should either hook up the unhooked wires if they are 3 wire, or take them off and have them bench tested. If single wire, and not charging, replace them. I have used single wire marine alternators with no issues.

Send an email to [email protected]. I'll send you some attachments telling you what and were to buy for those old aircraft seat actuators.
