Default 1:50 ratio vs. 1:65 Bravo 1

So I thought that I had 1:50 ratios on my Bravo, but discovered that someone had previously switched them to 1:65. In theory, using Mirage Plus props a 23p 1:5 is pretty close to a 25p 1:65, but my question is this the best way to go? I'm re powering my Baja 272 Islander with a 500hp carbed motor, so is it worth trying to set up the prop with the 1:65 ratios, or should I find a 1:5 set and start from there?

You will be fine with a 1.65 ratio just prop accordingly. You don't need to switch to a 1.50 unless you start running out of prop pitch.

Formula and Fountain installed many 1.65 Bravo's on their single engine performance boats....so you shouldn't think you have a freak set up.

Thanks. I figured that it was no big deal as .15 isn't a whole lot of change, but ffs, there are so many nuances to this powerboat thing that you just never know. Lol.

It originally came with the 1:5 but found the ratio change ground in to the head. I really appreciated that info!
