I'm fairly mechanically inclined and want to pull out my motor? It's a 06 outlaw with a 496ho mag and a bravo1x out drive. I understand everything that need to be done except where the motor hooks to the transom, bell housing or what ever there is back there lol? Is there some sort of guide? Is it difficult? any info would be great?

pull the drive, there are two long bolts that connect the bell housing to the inner transom plate, pull the nuts off the top of the studs on the front, uncouple the exhaust, pull the cannon plug, unhook the + bat cable on the starter, lean the hatch back and pull it, Im sure I missed something, I typed this out of memory, good luck

Take note, or photos, of the fiber or rubber washers where the bellhousing is bolted to the transom assembly. This is where most 1st timers screw up.
2nd is if you unhook both hoses from raw water pump of which position is in and which is out,
Oh, remember to pull the drive 1st.

Click on the link. You'll see that pic + what each #is. When you take it apart, keep thsm in order and what goes where. Remember, the bellhousing attaches to the transom assembly with those pieces.
No big deal when your told this way vs just doing and thinking you'll remember when put back in.
That's all. It's just the heads up to make note that helps you. LOL.

You can pull the motor without removing the engine hatch. Take out the rear bench. Remove the drive. Pull the cowling off the motor, disconnect the throttle cable, then pull the shifter cable, bracket and all. Remove the rubber exhaust to the tails and the y pipe. Easiest way to do this is pop the elbows off. Remove the adjustment nuts off the studs on the Gil motor mount. Again there are two long bolts on the rear transom plate where the Bellhousing sits. Disconnect the battery cable from the starter, fuel line from the pump, and the grounds from the rear of the motor. Pull the oil drain hose out of the drain plug and remove the lanyard. Remove the sea pump inlet from the 45° fitting at the transom plate. You have to cut the trim wires, they're wired in to the engine harness with no quick connecter. Pull and it's out.
