Default State Registration or USCG Documentation

Hello everyone,

My apologies in advance if this this forum is the incorrect one for my particular question...

I'm in need of some guidance with regard to vessel registration. I'm unaware of the pros & cons with state registration v.s. national documentation with the US Coast Guard. What are the legal complications, cost differentials, obligations, etc. And so any input is greatly appreciated. Thank you!!

There is a tax advantage in some states. It depends on where you live and where you CG register it.
