Default Flame arrestor screen

I have an old/discontinued Gaffrig/ Livorsi flame arrestor. I've got the top powder coated to match my colors but now I's to small for my new engines. I've seen the made a 8"x 5". Does anyone know where I can get the screen to change my 3" tall arrestor to 5"?
Thanks

Mike that's what I was wondering about, making mine 5" tall. That's almost double like my HP is, and it won't burn. I've got the clearance Clarence.

That may be what I need, or I was looking at Grainger.

I have seen backfires blow right thru CG approved flame arrestors. So it is only protection from a ticket, not an explosion...

K&N are USCG approved. Can get them as big as you want.

I wouldn't run a K&N filter on any of my stuff.

Mark Payton, try McMaster Carr website. They prob have the screen and the standoff spacers you can cut to size.

I've gutted those types of flame arrestors before. Some of them have miles of screen rolled up. Mine now only have 2 layers of screen in them. Your current ones might be OK if you were to remove a few layers of mesh.

I run K&N because I'm on dirt roads, dirt driveway, and dirt floor.

You should see the 'gravel' dust around here....especially in the summer....brutal !

If someone get's one, make sure to go as big as you can, since all have seen my postings on the 9x4 (2.75 elemnt height) costing 2mph and change on a mild small block in a light weight alfalfa driven boat.

as long as it does not have paper or any other material that will burn they are accepted is what CG told me, they are only looking to make sure if it backfires nothing will catch fire...
