I'm not positive but my friend Charles owns the original 38' Bertram competition "Copper Kettle". That was Sandy Satullos boat. It's a 1977 or 8. It was supposedly the first Kevlar boat made. He lives in Montreal Canada. I think he stated that his was built heavier so they made the next one a bit lighter. Which would be this one

Aren't we all getting old. Less and less people can appreciate what these boats were and how very few men ever ran much less owned one. Everyone thinks technology these days but the way things are going less and less people Wil be able to own these as well.

Cary 29, you are exactly right on your Copper Kettle history! My dad was racing Open Class back then in the 35' Cigarette "Conspiracy" and I distinctly remember that boat and the talk of its weight, etc. cool piece of history. Only bad thing is it means I am now an old fart.
