It's a club I didn't join willingly.
Here's what my interior looked like in November 2014, when I dropped it off for a full color change, paid my deposit, and was promised it would be completed by the end of December.

Here's what it looks like today, 3 months later, after a missed deadline at the end of December, another for mid-January, another for Feb. 1st, and another for Feb. 20th.... When I stopped in yesterday to check on the progress and an "associate" of the owner was "self-medicating" from a glass pipe, I decided to retrieve the foam and backers and seek a different shop.

If you're in Southern Michigan, beware. I was not refunded my deposit, and was told the "skins are all ready 'over there' and they just need to be picked up." When I asked where "over there" was, or when I could see them, I heard lots of stuttering. I politely requested the skins be retrieved from the bat-cave or my deposit be refunded.
I'm not going to post the shop's name until after this gets adjudicated, but if you're considering upholstery in Southern MI, PM me to potentially save yourself a headache.

In cases like this, it's not what I know, it's what I can prove, and I can't prove the owner had advance knowledge that the other guy was a druggie.
I explained to the owner that I would NOT be leaving my boat at his shop after witnessing that display of absurdity. Period.

You should have taken the stuff to the guys at XT in Ohio.... I dealt with a D-Bag guy in Wyandotte when having my Velocity interior done. Gave it to him in January and didn't get the last piece until Memorial Day weekend.... He did a nice job but it took me threatening to pull everything out of his shop and paying him only for what he completed. I had to go in daily to make sure it was getting done. Royal pain in the a$$. I learned my lesson, any future business from me will go to XT.

Coulda been worse... One of the flunkies in and out of that shop coulda taken the foam and expanded PVC backers, then I woulda been royally f$&@ed. Owner wrote me an IOU, and I have all the vinyl to do the project. Kind of annoyed by all of it, I might just put the raggedy old covers on for this season and handle the interior next fall.
