Default New Smyrna Beach Fishing

Just as the title states, I'm looking for suggestions on fishing in the area. I'll be there Easter week. I'm bringing surf casting gear and would like to go out on a charter. Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks!

My first beach fishing I have ever done was in Smyrna. We were working in FLA and blew a weekend off to go stay at the bosses uncles house which was was right on the beach. Bonus. Ive done pond fishing for bass and bluegill and some lake erie for steelhead, walleye and perch. Turned out he was one of the best surf fisherman in the area. Before I know it were pulling in baby sharks, I believe some kind of catfish and a couple other species i have never scene, nice sized whiting and a couple reds which were great eating. At one point he paddles out on a surfboard with a 16 oz weight and drops out a ways. About a half our later he's telling people to clear away. Pulled in an 3 to 4 foot shark. Ever since then I have loved surf fisfing. I do not know anyone by New Smyrna but if you would go up to St Auguistine I have two guys that we always used for inshore and offshore if your interested in that. Let me know and I will pass along the numbers for you.

I have been to St. Augustine years ago. I haven't been down to New Smyrna in 20 years. I'm sure the fishing is similar, but would love to meet up with a guide or a local to give some pointers. I'd even pay for a day trip too.

Not to be a d!ck or anything, but this is the Technical, General Q and A forum.... probably a better fit in the General Boating Discussion forum.

Just saying...

Maybe a mod can move it. Guess I was half asleep when I started the post, sorry.

I'm not into fishing, but I've spent a lot of time in New Smyrna Beach and surrounding area. ....which is of no value to you and your question - other than telling you that you must make a short 40 minute drive south to Titusville and go to Dixie Crossroads for dinner. Get 4 dozen rock shrimp broiled.

....you will thank me later! (unless of course you are allergic to shell fish)

But well worth it! I would almost guarantee that if you only order 2 dozen, you will end up ordering more. Tastes like little lobster tails, but better.
