Default Anyone used Plasti dip on your boat?

I have seen ads on craigslist for cars that are plasti dipped in various colors. Supposedly it cost around $500 for a car and you can peel it off if you don't like the color or want to show the original factory color without it damaging the paint. Has anybody used this on your car or boat and if you did how were the results? It appears that all the colors are in a flat finish which I don't really like so I don't know if they make a gloss finish. If it works like they say it would be cheaper than doing a wrap on a boat.

I think it would be tough on a boat. With cars they do the body panels individually I'd bet. They can make about any finish you want though.

www.dipyourcar.com

I've done some wheels and such including the metallic and glossifier with good results.

One little opening or scratch and I bet it would peel off in aheets. Just my .02

It would never work on a wetted surface. Deck or cockpit maybe; as long as it does not get abraded.

It lays down really even and smooth. I just did my track ccw's for my vette and I was super impressed with how even it is. I just did it to see if i liked the look before I powder coated them but after i did them and then mounted r6 slicks without damaging the coating I'm just going to keep them
Plasti dipped.

I used it on the seat legs that mount to my deck. Always had a rust mark around it. Dip it and done.

It really depends on the application. We did a 65 mustang with it, anything that is really smooth (chrome, polished surfaces) look great at first but end up peeling off. Regular body panels were pretty good, anything that gets a lot of use with people touching it or putting pressure on it may be a problem. Again, totally depends on what you put it on and how you use it, looks pretty cool for a cheap price though...

I was just thinking if you had a boat that the gel was a little worn it would be cheaper to do the plasti dip on the sides from the water line up v/s a wrap.
