Boat is ten years old. Some minor hairline cracking in the other forward corner, but the rest of of the hull appears to be in great shape. Any advise appreciated...thank you.

what make and model is it? looks like some pretty standard flex/stress, many boats just have design problem areas that creep to the surface (literally)


looks fairly isolated but its is a bit of a technical repair, nothing difficult but does require a skilled hand. Do you plan on doing the repair yourself?

Thanks for the response. It's a Baja Outlaw. No, I won't be doing the repair myself. Searching for a shop at the moment. I'm in the West Palm Beach, FL area.

you should be fine if you need to wait, in general its most likely superficial. Make sure whoever does the repair uses a good quality vinylester at the least.

What model Baja outlaw do you have?

Not a positive thing, but I can see that perhaps the laminate glass was not fully rolled onto the gelcoat in that area during the deck assembly layup, and a slight air pocket or area of weakness resulted.

A good fix would be to come at it from both sides, strengthening the back side and patching the top side. If it were my boat, I would not be to happy about it . . . shouldn't happen.

That looks to me like a structural flexing, Have you looked the boat over for other flexing that may have led to this failure. OR did you just have a VERY fun day jumping waves???
