Launching a boat at Kentucky/Barkley Lake has never been a problem for me with my past boats (220 Sport, H2X), but now some of the ramps I've used before I probably won't be able to use anymore.
Has anyone launched anything around 33' at Lake Barkley State Resort Park Marina by the Lodge? I'm planning on staying at the Lodge in late April and looking for a safe place to launch that's close.

Why would it be a problem?
My neighborhood launch is a lil tight, they have a loop for truck/boats to make a u turn to back down launch, but I cant make it, so I have to back in from the road. Isnt a problem unless you have a jacka$$ make the loop while I have already started backing.
Havent had any launches really give me a problem. It would would have to get steep fast (bottom trailer out) to cause an issue.

Length of the ramp is my concern. Some of the ramps around here are only so long; I'm worried about the trailer dropping off the end of the ramp and tearing up a fender. The axles of the trailer are really far back.

Thanks for the reply easyrider1340. I've used Buzzard Rock also and may later in the year, but this 33 OL is new to me, and I only have limited experience with twins. Getting on and off the trailer makes me nervous until I get some more practice.
The Moors may be an option, although I will probably just use Kentucky Dam Marina. I know for a fact that it's long enough.
EDIT: Do you mostly boat the river? I typically launch in Mt. Vernon and run upriver, highbanks, Dam 48, and occasionally Tiki Time for some tea.

The Moors ramp is actually marked on the dock, so you know where it ends.
Buzzard Rock is tight with a big boat. The docks are arranged poorly in my opinion to the ramp, so getting off the trailer can be tricky if its windy. Getting back on the trailer, however, is no problem.
I will be at Kentucky Dam Marina for Memorial Day weekend. First time there for us, but I heard the ramps are very wide, so should be easy. I'm planning a shakedown run in late April at Kentucky Lake - probably put in at Buzzard Rock.
We mainly boat the river. A few trips to Kentucky Lake and Cumberland for poker runs (although I think we are sitting out on the poker runs this year). When the river is too cold to get in, we can be found at Mailbox / JB Beach (about 1 mile north of Henderson ramp). When water is warm, we're either at Dam 48 or Deadman's (when its there).
Stop on by and chat.

The ramp at Kentucky Dam Marina is wide enough to launch about 8 boats at once, if people are smart about it. So, most of the time 4 is all you get. I agree about Buzzard. I think they were drunk when the designed the marina and forgot to put in a boat ramp, so they added one after the fact.
I used to hang out at Mailbox often when I launched at Dogtown. The wife and I moved to St. Phillips and I joined the Boat Club in Mt. Vernon, so that's the only place I'll launch anymore. It's a nice cruise from Mt. Vernon to there, though.
I'll be at the lake at least one weekend in April. If it's nice, I'll go early and just keep going until the river is right.
I've got a lot of work to do between now and then. Hope the checkbook holds!
